Sausage and Tortellini with Creamy Basil Alfredo Sauce

SAUSAGE and TORTELLINI with CREAMY BASIL ALFREDO SAUCE

Yield: 4 Servings

PREP TIME: 5 Min   |   COOK TIME:  30 Min   |   TOTAL TIME:  35 Min

INGREDIENTS:

  • 3 Bratwursts or Sausage in casing
  • 1 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 jar of mushroom pieces (or fresh)
  • 1 jar Bertolli Basil Alfredo Sauce
  • 1 package refridgerated cheese tortellini
  • Shredded Parmesan cheese (I use fresh parm and shred)

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Heat oil in pan
  2. Open one end of sausage casing and pinch meat out into small balls (you can form into small meatballs if you want)
  3. Add small balls of sausage meat to pan and cook til done
  4. Add mushrooms
  5. While meat is cooking, cook tortellini according to package directions.
  6. Drain tortellini and return to pot
  7. Add Alfredo sauce and stir to coat
  8. Add in meat and mushrooms and stir
  9. Cook on low to heat together
  10. Serve in bowls and top with parmesan cheese

VARIATIONS:

  • Use ground meat instead of forming sausages into meatballs
  • Use any alfredo sauce and add your own herbs
