Lake Livingston State Park is currently testing out a site specific reservation process. This is good news to people like me who like to know exactly which site I will be residing in during my camping trip. We recently tried out the reservation process online at the Texas State Parks online reservations page. The process was simple and easy to use. We chose our site and didn’t have to worry about getting to the park early to avoid getting stuck with a “bad” site.
Once we got there, our chosen site was indeed reserved and waiting for us. The next morning, a park representative came by and conducted a quick survey to find out how we liked the process and what we would change about it. The only thing I suggested was having site details/measurements and possibly a picture to accompany each site. But overall the reservation process is a step in the right direction and I’m excited that they are giving this a try. Hopefully it will be available to other state parks in the near future.
